The impressionist style of painting is characterized chiefly by concentration on the general impression produced by a scene or object and the use of unmixed primary colors and small strokes to simulate actual reflected light.
Impressionism, French Impressionnisme, a major movement, first in painting and later in music, that developed chiefly in France during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Impressionist painting comprises the work produced between about 1867 and 1886 by a group of artists who shared a set of related approaches and techniques. The most conspicuous characteristic of Impressionism was an attempt to accurately and objectively record visual reality in terms of transient effects of light and colour. The principal Impressionist painters were Claude Monet, Pierre Auguste Renoir, Camille Pissarro, Alfred Sisley, Berthe Morisot, Armand Guillaumin, and Frédéric Bazille, who worked together, influenced each other, and exhibited together independently. Edgar Degas and Paul Cézanne also painted in an Impressionist style for a time in the early 1870s.

As we paint to order you can tailor your impressionist painting in any way you want from whether or not to have the artists signature, to changing colours to suit decor, removing details or even changing faces. Have it how you want it. Each painting is a unique work of art, the artist and customer bring a little of their own creativity making each picture an individual master piece.
Each impressionist painting takes two to three weeks to complete. A high resolution photograph of every oil painting is sent to every customer for their approval before despatch. We are happy to make any changes customers you want at that stage until you are completely happy. All our paintings are covered by a full money back guarantee. Paintings are delivered either unframed, rolled up in a tube for you to get it framed any way you like or alternatively framed (look at our frames and framing section for our framing service).
Standard painting size is 24 x 20 inches (approx. 60 X 50 cm). There is extra canvas around the edges to allow for stretching. You can select other picture sizes from the drop down menu on all pictures. Different sizes are priced as a variant to the standard size. Paintings are available in a range of sizes from 20cm x 25cm (8 by 10 inches) up to 90cm x 120cm (36 x 48 inches). larger sizes are available on request.
Delivery costs £15 for an impressionist painting to anywhere in the world. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for your painting to be painted and shipped to you by courier.
